Her father the Duke of Kent, died soon after her birth, leaving the future Queen to be educated under the sole guidance of her mother the Duchess of Kent.
Queen Victoria, assumed throne as age 18, became the longest reigning British monarch and Empress of India. She succeed her uncle William IV as Victoria I.

During her reign Great Britain became the most powerful nation in the world. She died on Tuesday 22 January 1901 at half past six in the evening, at the age of 81.
